Our Winnipeg office is looking for a Bilingual Manager / Senior Manager to join the Assurance team. If you are a candidate currently located in Canada and interested in relocating to Winnipeg, BDO may offer financial assistance. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Efficiently prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for clients across various industries.
- Perform audits, prepare working papers, and financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Build positive relationships with clients and respond effectively to requests and suggestions.
- Participate in business development initiatives and identify new opportunities with existing clients to grow your practice.
- Communicate regularly with team members regarding progress and issues.
- Train staff and invest in their professional development; take an active leadership role within the office.
- Review assurance and non-assurance engagements for private, non-profit, and public sector entities to ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
- Manage audit and review assignments under ASPE, ASNPO, and PSAS standards.
- Plan, supervise, and execute assurance and non-assurance engagements effectively.
- Develop a portfolio of new clients and business opportunities continuously.
- Address client issues promptly, using your technical skills and accounting experience, adhering to BDO policies.
- Apply industry and business knowledge to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues relevant to clients’ businesses.
- Collaborate and think creatively to provide tailored solutions for clients.
- Assist clients with analyzing and applying accounting standards, including drafting reports and presentations.
- Support clients in preparing financial statements and liaising with auditors, including transitioning between accounting frameworks.
- Stay current on evolving financial reporting standards, securities, and regulatory requirements.
- Fluently bilingual in French and English, both written and oral.

Required experience and education include:
- Extensive experience with ASPE, ASNPO, and PSAS standards.
- 2-4+ years in a management role.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Leadership qualities, with a focus on employee engagement.
- Strong communication skills in both French and English.
