Our Winnipeg office is looking for a Bilingual Manager / Senior Manager to join the Assurance team. If you are a candidate currently located in Canada and interested in relocating to Winnipeg, BDO may offer financial assistance. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  1. Efficiently prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for clients across various industries.
  2. Perform audits, prepare working papers, and financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards.
  3. Build positive relationships with clients and respond effectively to requests and suggestions.
  4. Participate in business development initiatives and identify new opportunities with existing clients to grow your practice.
  5. Communicate regularly with team members regarding progress and issues.
  6. Train staff and invest in their professional development; take an active leadership role within the office.
  7. Review assurance and non-assurance engagements for private, non-profit, and public sector entities to ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
  8. Manage audit and review assignments under ASPE, ASNPO, and PSAS standards.
  9. Plan, supervise, and execute assurance and non-assurance engagements effectively.
  10. Develop a portfolio of new clients and business opportunities continuously.
  11. Address client issues promptly, using your technical skills and accounting experience, adhering to BDO policies.
  12. Apply industry and business knowledge to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues relevant to clients’ businesses.
  13. Collaborate and think creatively to provide tailored solutions for clients.
  14. Assist clients with analyzing and applying accounting standards, including drafting reports and presentations.
  15. Support clients in preparing financial statements and liaising with auditors, including transitioning between accounting frameworks.
  16. Stay current on evolving financial reporting standards, securities, and regulatory requirements.
  17. Fluently bilingual in French and English, both written and oral.

Required experience and education include:

  1. Extensive experience with ASPE, ASNPO, and PSAS standards.
  2. 2-4+ years in a management role.

  5. Strong communication skills in both French and English.
