Role: Fire Risk Assessor

Locality: National, office based in Derby

Salary: 50,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience) + 3,000 car allowance, full time

Based near Derby, our clients established and family-run business with a nationwide presence is seeking a motivated and skilled Fire Risk Assessor to join them on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a fantastic chance to be part of our continued expansion and make a real impact.

Their diverse client base spans sectors such as construction, property, retail, education, and industrial, with significant expertise in the care home sector.

About the Role:

As a key member of the team, you will conduct Fire Risk Assessments across a variety of premises nationwide, including care homes, residential buildings, schools, and commercial spaces. The role necessitates demonstrable competence in evaluating high-risk environments. Depending on your location, there is flexibility for home-based or office-based work following an initial induction period.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Performing comprehensive Fire Risk Assessments and creating Fire Evacuation Strategies for a range of properties.
  • Delivering clear, practical, and cost-effective fire safety advice to our clients.
  • Identifying areas for fire safety improvement and recommending tailored solutions.
  • Utilising your in-depth knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, relevant government guidelines, and British Standards.
  • Building strong relationships with clients to understand and address their specific fire safety needs.

We're Looking For Someone With:

  • Proven experience in conducting Fire Risk Assessments, particularly within residential care settings.
  • A recognised qualification in fire safety (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management).
  • A Level 4 FRA certificate and Tier 3 qualification.
  • Current registration or active steps towards registration with the IFE or IFSM.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A valid full UK driving license.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS (CRB) check upon employment.
