The role of a senior support worker involves:
  1. Contributing to young people's care plans and risk assessments, reviewing and implementing them.
  2. Building effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate), and external agencies.
  3. Ensuring the home is kept clean and tidy, following the cleaning rota, and encouraging young people to participate as appropriate.
  4. Maintaining high-quality records with supervision and guidance from shift and managers.
  5. Upholding professional standards in residential care work, as expected by Esland and Ofsted.
  6. Supporting the educational and social development of each young person and assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Programs.
  7. Addressing the emotional and physical needs of young people and maximizing their development opportunities.
  8. Supporting the deputy/manager during shifts and performing senior duties as directed.
What we are looking for from you:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (highly desirable).
  • Experience in a children's home setting (essential).
  • Supervisory experience (essential).
  • A passion for nurturing young people.
  • The ability to work shift patterns, including sleep-ins (schedule provided in advance, likely 2 on, 4 off).
  • A full UK driving license (essential).
  • All candidates must be over 21 to comply with industry regulations.
  • Satisfactory completion of full enhanced disclosure, right to work, and reference checks, with costs covered by the company.
