Job Description: Senior Environmental Advisor

Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Senior Environmental Advisor will play a key role in implementing the Telent Sustainability Strategy. Responsibilities include supporting Business Units to meet waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO 14001 standards, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This is an agile role requiring up to 50% UK-wide travel.

What you’ll do:

• Provide specialist guidance to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Support risk management by establishing environmental assurance regimes, including audit programs, ensuring effective inspections and audits.
• Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
• Develop and maintain performance data, and generate carbon management reports for stakeholders.
• Conduct regular reviews of environmental aspects and impacts within Business Units, including climate change risk evaluations.
• Support Project teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout the Project Life Cycle.

Who you are:

You should have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum qualification: PIEMA
• ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
• Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
• Proven ability to reduce environmental impacts of equipment and infrastructure across product lifecycles
• Experience managing complex technical projects and change initiatives
• Full driving license and flexibility for UK-wide travel
