Eisai EMEA is seeking a Manager for External Innovation to enhance the R&D Discovery pipeline through partnerships. The role involves alliance management, scientific evaluation, and developing collaborative models. Ideal candidates will possess a PhD in biological science and experience in drug discovery, contributing to impactful research initiatives.

Your new role
The Manager, External Innovation, will contribute to the enrichment of the R&D Discovery pipeline through collaboration with external academic and biotech partners in the UK and Europe.The main purpose of the job will be to (a) provide an alliance management function for key research collaborations b) scout scientific innovation opportunities in the EMEA region (c) perform scientific evaluation of collaboration and investment opportunities (d) identify alternative funding schemes and develop novel collaborative models to facilitate research (e) contribute to effective operational management of the local and global External Innovation-led initiatives

What are we looking for?
The candidate should have a PhD or equivalent experience in biological science and a working knowledge of neurological disease area and drug discovery process.
The candidate should ideally have experience of working in an industry-academic scientific collaboration, preferably in the context of drug discovery. A broad appreciation of emerging technologies, new modalities and biomarkers in neurological diseases would be an advantage. A proactive, flexible, and entrepreneurial mindset is essential to contribute to the prosecution of the External Innovation mission and its contribution to R&D strategy.
