Skilled Fitter - Package

My client is looking for Skilled Fitters to join their ever-growing team in Glasgow - they are at the forefront of developing engineering solutions for the needs of industrial processes.

Offering a starting salary of £33,500 for this role. Based on a 1.33 shift premium, the annual salary would be £44,555, with maximum earnings being £52,327 based on a 1.42 shift and 10% OT.

The Role

Main purpose of the job:

1. Assemble Turbo and Screw Compressor packages to GA, PID, and Engineering Specification.
2. Set up, align & fit large engineered components to bespoke designed engineered packages and assist in the test setup of Turbo Compressors/Screw Compressor Packages.
3. Hydro test machined components as well as flushing complete pipework systems in accordance with all Inspection & Test Plans.

Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours

1. Recognised Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
2. Rotating equipment experience, including balancing and high-speed gearbox assemblies.
3. Laser alignment experience for motors, pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
4. Engineering Drawing interpretation ability.
5. P&ID Drawing Interpretation ability.
6. Experience working on engineered to order packages for the Industrial Refrigeration, Petrochemical, and Oil and Gas markets.
7. Previous experience of precision manufacturing & assembly components.
8. Previous experience in large engineered package assemblies.
9. Experience in a mechanical testing environment.
10. Lifting & Slinging and forklift certification.
11. General Environmental Health & Safety awareness.
12. Lean Manufacturing Skills.
