Research Initiatives Manager

£45,864 pa plus excellent benefits

Location: London WC1 and home-based

Hours: 35 hours per week

Role Overview

The Research Initiatives Manager is a vital position within the College, responsible for collaborating with senior clinicians to lead projects that support child-health research initiatives. These include managing research awards, organizing research events, and enhancing research capacity by integrating academic skills into the paediatric workforce and promoting academic research.

You will also oversee the RCPCH Genomics Programme, developing resources and activities to prepare our membership for advancements in genomics medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead operational activities for relevant Committees and working groups, representing the College and reporting progress to Project Boards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Work with the Head of Grants and Partnerships to identify funding opportunities.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree or equivalent experience in research, health sciences, life sciences, or genomics.
  • Understanding of the national clinical research funding landscape and infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership in managing senior projects and collaborative multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent report writing, documentation, and promotional skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis; experience in organizing workshops and events; understanding of genomic medicine landscape is desirable.
