ABOUT US
Specialising in functional art and collectible design, Carpenters Workshop Gallery produces and exhibits the work of international artists, designers and architects who look to push past the traditional confines of galleries and art fairs. It was founded on the partnership between childhood friends Julien Lombrail and Loïc Le Gaillard, who first opened the gallery in a former carpenter's workshop in London's Chelsea in 2006. Since then, Carpenters Workshop Gallery has become a leading pioneer in contemporary art and design, expanding to operate four galleries worldwide in London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Guided by breaking boundaries between art, design and craft, the gallery is actively involved in the research, conservation and production of limited edition works. This ethos is exemplified by The Workshop, an extraordinary 8,000 sq. m creative hub just outside Paris dedicated to production, innovation and collaboration between artists, designers and artisans. Carpenters Workshop Gallery's most recent chapter was the 2023 opening of its new London home at Ladbroke Hall, a destination dedicated to ambitious programming across all forms of cultural expression, which reflects the gallery's leading role in contemporary arts and creativity.
