Job description

Exciting Opportunity for a Paediatric or Adult Trained Nurse

Join our Highly Specialised NF1 Complex Service at Saint Mary's MCS, one of only two centres in the UK providing comprehensive care for both paediatric and adult patients with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1).

About the Service: The NF1 service is nationally recognized for expertise in diagnosing and managing complex NF1 cases, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and conducting mutation testing for unusual phenotypes. The service aims to improve patient outcomes through expert diagnosis, monitoring, and innovative research.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Trial Coordination: Manage patient recruitment, consent, follow-up, and ensure adherence to protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  2. Patient Care: Provide comprehensive care to trial participants, monitor health, administer treatments, and manage adverse events.
  3. Data Management: Collect, record, and maintain accurate trial data, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  4. Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth research operations.
  5. Education and Training: Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff about NF1 and research activities.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities meet ethical, regulatory, and institutional standards, and prepare necessary documentation.
  7. Quality Improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance the research program's efficiency and quality.
