Job Description

My client is a leading FMCG manufacturing organisation with an impressive history and a fantastic reputation within the industries they serve. Due to a range of innovative developments and investments, they are experiencing an extensive period of growth, including new state-of-the-art manufacturing assets. They are now looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their site on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities
  1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment as defined by our PPM schedule to the highest standard.
  2. Work as part of a mechanical/electrical team to keep plant availability in line with operational commitments.
  3. Assist with machine improvement projects.
  4. Monitor, fault find, maintain, and repair a wide variety of equipment including pumps, gearboxes, and specialist treatment process machinery.
  5. Apply first level maintenance activities to all onsite assets.
  6. Perform large plant complex repairs, including working in confined spaces using breathing apparatus if required (training will be provided).
  7. Develop new skills both in and outside of your core discipline.
  8. Work on fixed plant on Water and Waste Water Treatment sites to fault find, repair, and maintain equipment.
  9. Collaborate with other disciplines in a workshop team.
  10. Follow business and departmental rules related to workflow and management.
  11. Maintain awareness of health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  12. Use our computerised maintenance management system to organise workload and respond to work orders.
Education & Experience
  • Hold City & Guilds or similar vocational qualifications, with completed apprenticeship or recognised training in a mechanical discipline.
  • Relevant experience in a production, processing, or manufacturing facility is beneficial.
  • Possess well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in teams and interact effectively with colleagues and managers.
  • Exhibit excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to follow and respond to directions as required.

This is a Monday - Friday dayshift position.
