Job description

Job summary

We are looking for a full time Senior Clinical Fellow to join our Trust.

This post is the equivalent of an ST3-5 position on the East of England Trauma & Orthopaedic Specialty training programme. Exact equivalence of grade offered will be determined through the recruitment process. It is a non-Deanery post so is not accredited for training, but will give the post-holder similar clinical and surgical experiences and opportunities for learning, including attending the regional teaching programme.

The duties will mirror those of the Specialty trainees at the trust, with elective and emergency commitments, including day and night shift on-call rota.

The post commences as soon as possible and will be for a fixed term period until 30th September 2025.

A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

We welcome all applications irrespective of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion. Additionally, people with disabilities will be offered an interview providing they meet the minimum criteria for the post. The Trust operates job share and flexible working.

Main duties of the job

In general, the appointed individuals will be expected to work in fracture and elective clinics, trauma and elective operating lists and care for patients on the ward (working effectively with junior members of the team such as Core and Foundation trainees, alongside other HCPs, such as Specialist Nurse Practitioners).

Whilst this post is not recognised for training nor Deanery approved, an Educational Supervisor will be allocated to the fellow.

The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.

All employees, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust's Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.
