Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 to join a team of Resuscitation Officers within the Corporate Division. The post is to cover maternity leave for a fixed term of 6 months starting on the 28th April 2025. As this is a short term contract we are looking for an experienced individual who is already able to teach ILS or PILS courses.

The team provides a comprehensive, efficient and effective clinical and educational service across ESNEFT.

Our purpose is to ensure the delivery of a quality cost effective resuscitation service, which includes educating and training staff to ensure they are equipped with the rights skills, values and behaviors to provide safe effective care and positive experiences for patients, families and staff.

The role also includes:

  • Maintaining clinical skills by attending cardiac arrests / clinical emergencies
  • Involvement in clinical audit
  • Organization of emergency equipment throughout the Trust.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse / ODP / Paramedic with post registration experience in acute / critical care
  • ILS instructor / PILS instructor
  • Clinical teaching experience

You will be expected to work flexibly and travel to all sites as required, therefore a car will be required.

Main duties of the job
  • To act as an informed resource in resuscitation issues for all staff within the Trust
  • To contribute to the planning, organisation and implementation of an effective resuscitation service
  • To teach resuscitation skills in line with Trust protocols and Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines
  • To take part in clinical research and audit
  • To ensure a standardised approach to resuscitation and resuscitation training throughout the Trust, recognising the differing needs of Trust staff

  • Will be a member of the Resuscitation Committee
  • Will deputise at meetings when required
