Job description

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We are looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join a Stroke Recovery Service based in East Kent.

Position:

S11278 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location:

Home based, Thanet, East Kent, with regular travel within the service area and possibly to London and nationally for meetings.

Salary:

Circa £16,461 per annum

Hours:

21 hours per week

Contract:

Permanent, funded until 31 March 2026.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers by providing innovative support solutions to meet their desired outcomes. The role involves supporting service users and service delivery.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

  1. Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
  2. Provide personalised information, advice, and support.
  3. Support clients to make lifestyle changes to prevent further strokes.
  4. Manage volunteers, including recruiting, training, and overseeing their activities.
About You

You will have:

  • Excellent IT skills and a flexible approach.
  • Experience in a caring profession supporting people with disabilities.
  • Experience in setting up and running virtual groups.

This role is home-based with extensive travel across the local area and occasionally further afield. A valid driving license and access to a car with business use cover are essential.

You must be a resident of the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
