Job description

Title: Senior BI Analyst

Salary: Up to £70,000

Industry: Banking

Location: London (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead analytics and BI initiatives, promoting best practices and a data-first approach across all functions.
  2. Develop expert knowledge of the data platform and reporting landscape, acting as a subject matter expert for data stakeholders.
  3. Maintain and update reports, continuously seeking improvements to enhance their effectiveness.
  4. Automate reports and conduct ad-hoc data analysis to support business needs.
  5. Write SQL queries to extract data from core system databases based on departmental requirements.
  6. Support Change Projects from a data and reporting perspective, enhancing the reporting platform and data integrity.
  7. Deliver advanced analytics and AI projects that align with the analytics strategy and drive business value.
  8. Analyse data to identify trends, provide insights, and uncover opportunities to drive business performance.
  9. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop requirements for analytics and reporting projects, ensuring data accuracy and attention to detail.
  10. Guide the business on KPI development, ensuring they drive business performance.
Key Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in a numeric, scientific, or finance-related field.
  2. Extensive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or management information roles.
  3. Proficient in SQL, with expertise in querying large database systems and developing robust code.
  4. Advanced Tableau skills, capable of creating engaging and value-adding dashboards, analytics, and reports.
  5. Expert-level Excel knowledge for data analysis and management.
  6. Proven track record of leveraging analytical skills to deliver business value.
  7. Experience in the Financial Services or Banking industry.
  8. Skilled in communicating complex ideas simply and effectively using appropriate presentation techniques.
  9. Strong time management abilities, adept at balancing multiple projects.
  10. Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to make effective decisions based on a detailed understanding of business processes.
Desirable
  1. Experience working with agile development approaches & Jira.
  2. Experience developing reports in Power BI.
  3. Knowledge of data warehousing techniques (data vault, ETL, information delivery schemas).
  4. Experience sourcing and assessing the value & integrity of external data sources.
