Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job. It's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.
We currently have the following opportunity:
We are looking to recruit a teacher for one of our classes in our Intensive Support Provision (ISP) and is attached to our mainstream school.
Our ISP from August 2025 will have two classes with around 6/8 children in each class. In each classroom there is a class teacher and Pupil Support Assistant.
Our classes are for children who are adversely impacted by their additional support needs to the extent that the mainstream context is or is predicted to be significantly impairing their wellbeing and educational progress.
The needs of children and young people in these specialist contexts will continue to be closely monitored and reviewed. Wherever possible, opportunities to extend their learning in a mainstream environment will be considered and taken forward with a view to maximising their social skills and breadth of learning experiences.
The teacher appointed will be required to work closely with the ISP team and Senior Leadership Team, families, and partners to promote inclusion.
You will be responsible for planning to improve outcomes for our children through individual planning and target setting.
We are looking for a positive and reflective teacher who has experience in supporting children with a range of additional support needs including supporting children with autism, ADHD, social and communication difficulties, and sensory difficulties.
We are looking for a positive and creative person who will plan a curriculum and create an environment that is inclusive and incorporates visual supports, sensory learning activities, a communication friendly environment including promoting the use of Makaton.
We have a vision of a confident and ambitious Perth and Kinross, to which everyone can contribute and all can share.
Our values and behaviours influence our work and support us in the delivery of our key priorities . In your application, and should you be invited to interview, you will be asked to describe situations that support the criteria required in the role and which also demonstrate our values and behaviours .
