I.T. Application Development Officer - North Herts Council

£38,296.00 - £44,140.00 per annum (Pay award pending)

Hybrid working: Flexibility with homeworking and office-based days (typically 1 day a week in the office)

The Role

The organization is undergoing a digital transformation to ensure all processes are 'digital by default' and to deliver services efficiently. You will support the IT Senior Development and Cyber Security Officer by designing, developing, integrating, and supporting technical projects to facilitate this transformation.

The Experience You Will Bring
  • Experience supporting applications and database products on Windows-based virtual hardware.
  • Experience managing third-party upgrades, such as Oracle and MSSQL, and installing vendor-supplied application patches.
  • Excellent customer service skills, effective collaboration within a small team, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
  • Substantial programming experience in C# and developing system integrations, analyzing data, and creating line-of-business applications.
  • Experience developing integrations between in-house and third-party systems using RESTful APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON, CSV, as well as ETL processes and SQL.
  • Knowledge of technology stacks including WinForms, Web, ASP.NET Core, .NET Framework/.NET 6-9, Blazor, WPF, and .NET MAUI.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills, troubleshooting skills, and a strong focus on security.
