Job description

Casual Tour Guides - Covent Garden

£15.81 per hour

Casual engagements only

As the home of The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera, and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, we aim to engage more people in exceptional ballet and opera. We are seeking additional casual Tour Guides to join our inclusive, friendly, and professional team.

Our Tour Guides play a key role in welcoming visitors into a safe, captivating, and theatrical environment by delivering engaging, informative, and memorable tours. They also promote the RBO brand, art forms, activities, charitable purposes, and commercial opportunities.

Tours can take place 7 days a week at the RBO in Covent Garden, the RBO Production Park in Purfleet (Essex), online, and other venues as required.

We welcome applicants who demonstrate the following:

  1. Experience as a Tour Guide (relevant transferable skills will be considered)
  2. Knowledge of and interest in theatre crafts, particularly opera and ballet
  3. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills and impeccable presentation
  4. Fluency in English
  5. First-class customer service skills with the confidence to manage groups professionally and effectively, remaining calm, patient, and dynamic
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills with diplomacy to build and maintain good relationships within the organization
