Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated occupational therapist with excellent communication skills, an innovative, and flexible approach. You must be a team player with a broad range of student experience.

This role involves 6-month rotations across various specialties including Surgery, Orthopaedics, Oncology and Haematology, General Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Neurology. Rotations are across several sites, including University College Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Some rotations may require participation in 7-day services or weekend work.

We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement, providing regular supervision and in-service training. Please only apply if you have a degree result and your HCPC registration, or it is pending.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide high-quality Occupational Therapy input, including assessment, treatment, and advice to patients in various settings.
  2. Demonstrate strong communication skills with stakeholders, including patients’ families and multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Deliver patient-centered care with holistic and individualized interventions.
  4. Perform manual handling tasks safely, fit and deliver ADL equipment, and utilize basic IT skills.
  5. Participate in evidence-based audits and service development projects with Senior Therapists to maintain and improve care standards.
  6. Manage own caseload effectively through good time management and prioritization.
  7. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in line with RCOT and trust guidelines.
  8. Adhere to the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy, avoiding discriminatory behaviors.
  9. Contribute as an integral team member, supervising students and assistant staff as required.
  10. Provide flexible cover within the department during staff absences.
  11. Understand and adhere to trust values, policies, and guidelines.
