For over 35 years, ICMP has provided contemporary music education with personalized, industry-focused training, including specializations in Electronic Music Production, Live Event Management, and Music Marketing.

About The Role

The Student Wellbeing Adviser will collaborate with the Student Life & Wellbeing Manager and Student Services Team to serve as a professional point of contact for students needing advice and support regarding health and wellbeing concerns. The role involves listening, support, signposting, and follow-up services to help students facing a variety of challenges affecting their studies and mental health.

Key stakeholders include the Head of Student Services, Deputy Head, Campus and Academic Managers, Student Life & Wellbeing Manager, Academic Support Officers, Disability and Mental Health Advisers, academic teams, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with professional support services regarding student wellbeing concerns.
  • Support students with disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health, medical conditions, and impairments by creating Support Agreements and communicating reasonable adjustments.
  • Assess and manage risks to ensure students access appropriate support, acting as a liaison and signposting to external services.
  • Assist students in pre-entry processes to facilitate transition and support uptake.
  • Facilitate wellbeing drop-in sessions and provide advice on financial hardship, accommodation issues, and homelessness.
  • Support students in crisis situations, including homelessness, domestic violence, and financial crises.
  • Support care-experienced and estranged students with practical and emotional guidance.
  • Provide information on how wellbeing impacts academic performance and direct students to practical support services.
  • Utilize student data to identify and intervene early with students at risk.
  • Develop links with external agencies, NHS teams, and community groups for comprehensive support.
  • Collaborate with tutors and support staff to deliver wellbeing projects and initiatives.
  • Support students through the Support to Study and Fitness to Study processes.
  • Act as a Safeguarding Officer, identifying at-risk students and escalating concerns appropriately.
