Housing Support WorkerCity of LondonRough Sleepers3 Months35 Hours£19.32 LTD / £16.47 PAYE (inc hol)We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join a national charity in the City of London, providing person-centred support to rough sleepers to help them secure and sustain safe housing.
THE ROLEAs a Housing Support Worker, you will provide essential housing-related support, ensuring clients receive guidance and advocacy to achieve successful move-ons while maintaining a safe and secure living environment.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify individual housing challenges and develop tailored support plans
- Support clients in securing appropriate housing, accessing benefits, and managing tenancies
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety and well-being within the housing environment
- Provide financial guidance, including budgeting for rent and essential expenses
- Advocate on behalf of clients, liaising with landlords and external agencies
- Maintain accurate records and case notes to track progress and service delivery
- Provide practical support, including household management and daily living skills training
THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar Housing Support role, working with rough sleepers or individuals with complex needs.
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with housing, tenancy management, and move-on plans
- Strong knowledge of homelessness prevention, housing rights, and welfare benefits
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safeguarding measures
- Excellent advocacy and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with external agencies
- Proven ability to maintain accurate records and handle sensitive information professionally
THE CONTRACT- Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm (40 working hours, 35 paid, 5 unpaid for lunch)
- 3-month contract with the possibility of extension
- Based in the City of London, with office work opposite Liverpool Street Station (2 days per week)
- £19.32 per hour LTD / £16.47 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
