Job description

Children’s Social Worker
Team: Family Support and Protection
Location: Rochdale
Rate: £39

Rochdale Family Support and Protection Service needs enthusiastic and committed Social Workers to support our transition into a new way of working.

We are at the very start of an exciting transition into the family safeguarding model. To support this, we need to establish multi-disciplinary teams where specialist practitioners are co-located with social workers under a unified management structure. This enables a multi-disciplinary whole family response through direct assessment. This is a really exciting time for Rochdale, and we need Social Workers to help implement this model.

In return for your commitment, we can offer you the following:

  1. A manageable caseload of between 20 and 23 children. As the service develops and we get more workers, we aim to reduce caseloads to 17 to support you in engaging in real direct work with children and families.
  2. Flexible working patterns to fit around your family and personal life.
  3. Regular reflective supervision with an experienced manager.
  4. Access to our new and existing training opportunities, including motivational interviewing.
  5. A friendly, modern, and award-winning working environment.
  6. Excellent agile working arrangements.
  7. A supportive and friendly team of Social Workers and Managers who love what they do!

Our agency workers are seen as an important resource and are given the same level of support and opportunities as our permanent staff.
