Qualifications

This is a fixed term 12 months contract at our head office in Union, central Manchester, opposite the town hall. The role can be between 25 - 30 hours per week, depending on what works for you. We prefer the successful candidate to work these hours Monday - Friday (four days in the office, one day from home).

The pro-rata salary would be:

  • £16,666 for 25 hours
  • £20,000 for 30 hours

Job purpose: You’ll work with another Finance Support Assistant. You’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, assessing queries and distributing them to the appropriate department, resolving queries yourself where possible.

You’ll be a crucial coordinator in the transactional finance department, so it’s important that you enjoy collaborating with colleagues and building relationships with customers, along with having a good foundation of finance knowledge.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing professional and effective first-line support to external & internal customers via email & telephone for transactional finance
  • Recording & assigning customer queries in our query management software, taking a proactive approach to resolve
  • Working to resolve tickets within our agreed SLAs to provide solutions
  • Assigning complex queries to internal stakeholders for support
  • Preparing customer refund requests with correct supporting documentation and approvals
  • Uploading customer invoices onto portals for prompt payment
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks within transactional finance as required
  • Managing, prioritising, and planning your work queue daily to minimise ticket volume
  • Building relationships with internal customers & stakeholders to resolve queries
  • Following up on overdue queries with stakeholders for prompt resolution
  • Sending account statements & transaction history requests to customers

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in customer support or help desk environments
  • Experience in transactional finance is advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • Confidence in using IT systems, Google Suite & Microsoft Office
  • A great team player with a can-do attitude
