What you will be doing

The Head of Learning Delivery brings our Leatro learning strategy to life, focused on us building capability, meeting our regulatory obligations, in addition to driving the learning culture we aspire to have. You will lead the global learning delivery team and the associated vendors to deliver learning to all employees across the enterprise. We have the opportunity to leverage learning in delivering enhanced value for the organisation – as well as enabling our colleagues to thrive in the future world of work. This role is pivotal in delivering these outcomes.

This role promotes learning and develops learning agility and strong learning culture across the enterprise. You will be working closely with the Head Office SME team, Business leaders and Divisional specialists to ensure that all employees are maximising the learning opportunities that exist to continually evolve their capability. You will be supporting the #AlwaysLearning culture by ensuring that all learning technology is connected, easily accessible across the Enterprise and evolves to support communities of practice within the business. Owns the governance of digital learning content quality for the Enterprise. Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the delivery of learning services across the Enterprise to required safety, cost, quality and delivery time.
  • Accountable for the service costs with our vendors and the through spend the Business Divisions make in investing in employee learning. This role is responsible for £20million + annually. As our learning needs and colleague expectations grow this role is accountable for ensuring the service stays relevant, progressive and of benchmark value to Rolls-Royce plc.
  • Responsible for the mobilisation of strategic intent into enterprise reality in partnership with Head Office subject matter experts.
  • Accountable for supplier management of learning services including benchmark value, and the evolution of our supplier strategy.
  • Responsible for the development/procurement of solutions that build the skills needed and prioritised by the Enterprise.
  • Accountable for the colleague experience of all services associated with our ‘Leatro’ learning brand and improving that experience in line with strategy.
  • Provide insights and best practice to support the Enterprise in its utilisation of learning to develop necessary skills.
  • Responsible for learning services and products to be compliant with relevant policy and legislation.
  • Ensure our learning and development offering is fully understood across the wider People Function and develop collateral that can be used by People teams within all parts of the Enterprise.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition teams to ensure that learning and development is accurately reflected in our People Deal.
  • Ensure that our People calendar (and processes) are supported with just-in time high quality learning solutions and work with Internal Communications teams to deploy these.
  • Ensure that colleagues and People teams are aware of and know how to access any new learning technology implemented in the organisation.
  • Work to actively develop the habit of learning, and a culture of ‘growth mindset’ & ‘learning agility’ across the organisation.
  • Ensures that all learning solutions are easy to find and access and are increasingly integrated within the normal flow of work; served up on an automated basis (leveraging AI enabled solutions & technologies) for colleagues.
  • Monitors and measures learner engagement, learner reach & business impact.
  • Work with Communications teams to create, and refresh colleague testimonials related to learning and communicate these across the Enterprise.
  • Ensure that harder to reach audiences have the same access and opportunity to learning (i.e. shop floor & field-based colleagues).
  • Own the build out of Learning Metrics and the provision of ongoing learning data at Enterprise level and provide pro-active Insights for the Divisions and Enabling Functions to act upon.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Specialist knowledge in Learning and Development, particularly in the learning operations & delivery space, with proven focus on continually evolving and keeping up to date with industry trends
  • Experience of working within a Skills-Based Organisation/an organisation that has been on the journey to implementing a Skills-Based approach – as a minimum an understanding of what is required to deploy learning in an agile Skills-Based environment
  • Experience and/or enthusiasm in the use of AI and advanced technologies in order to move learning delivery operations to a ‘Performance Support’ based approach; fully integrates into the flow of work
  • A leader who has demonstrated their ability to mobilise both internal teams and supplier vendors to lead performance and change and has successfully made a step change in Learning culture in another organisation
  • Global mindset and cultural sensitivity to effectively work across Enterprise, Regions, Divisions & Functions
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across a matrix organisation. Ability to lead through influence
  • Business acumen, vendor management and programme management skills required
