As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Derivatives Execution Technologies, you will drive the successful delivery of complex technology projects that support business goals across the firm. Your deep knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential for developing innovative solutions, while effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams. Strong analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to navigate ambiguity and change, ensuring technology initiatives align with business objectives. With advanced communication and stakeholder management abilities, you will foster productive relationships and influence decision-making to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. You will run projects as a product owner, spanning multiple teams, and be hands-on in configuration, testing, and deployment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Own and deliver projects with direct impact on front-office stakeholders—such as new exchange connectivity, new trading feature implementation, or low latency trading solutions.
  2. Partner closely with development teams to set up solutions in test environments and ensure delivery meets requirements.
  3. Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines for on-time delivery.
  4. Identify and mitigate risks, proactively address potential roadblocks, and implement contingency plans to maintain project momentum.
  5. Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with business goals.
  6. Use analytical reasoning to assess performance, identify improvements, and implement data-driven optimizations.
  7. Champion agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification in software development concepts, with advanced experience or equivalent expertise in hands-on roles like production management, software development, or system integration/testing.
  • Experience in Markets Execution technology area.
  • Experience with system and software configuration.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Technical fluency, including knowledge of vendor products and managing vendor relations.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Track record of managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in an agile environment.
  • Proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down objectives into manageable tasks.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Understanding of Order and Execution lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Futures and Options products.
  • Understanding of FIX protocol.
  • Ability to navigate autonomously in a Linux environment.
  • Understanding of networking principles.
