Job description

WorkWell Coach

Location: Woking

Salary: £25,835 - £27,075 inclusive per annum

Hours: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

You have a QCF in Advice & Guidance (Level 3) or equivalent, plus a proven ability to work to policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safeguarding, lone working, information governance, and health and safety. You'd also like to be part of an organisation that values professionalism, insight, expertise, and passion to inspire individual recovery. Welcome to Waythrough as a WorkWell Coach.

WorkWell is an innovative government/DWP initiative aimed at helping people return to work. It provides work placement support and addresses physical and mental health needs through a Mental Health Provider and Physical Health Advisor. The pilot in Surrey launched in December and seeks to empower individuals to manage their health, wellbeing, and employment challenges via referral to a WorkWell Coach. That's where you come in.

As part of the primary care network (PCN) and community hubs, your role will be to create a supportive environment where individuals can identify their health and wellbeing concerns and understand how these impact their employment. You'll adopt a strengths-based approach, focusing on 'what matters to me,' and collaboratively develop personalized, holistic support plans to help individuals thrive at work. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physical activity, mental health, and employment advisors to deliver interventions and connect individuals to community support, ensuring sustainable health, wellbeing, and employment.

To succeed, you should have a good understanding of motivational coaching and interview skills, be organized, proactive, flexible, and committed to personal development. Familiarity with office IT systems, good word processing skills, and the ability to use emails and the internet for creating plans and reports are essential. Equally important are your listening and empathetic skills, ability to provide person-centered, non-judgmental support, and a commitment to reducing health inequalities. Your approach should inspire trust and motivate others to reach their potential.

This role offers excellent benefits, training, and development opportunities. It is a hybrid role, primarily community and home-based, with occasional office visits. A driver and access to a car are essential due to the nature of the work.
