This role within the School of Human and Social Sciences involves teaching and module leadership on our Criminology and Forensic Studies courses. The Forensic Studies course has achieved Conditional Educational Accreditation from the CSFS. Expertise in CSI and/or Forensic Science is essential, focusing on two standards from the CSFS:
Interpretation, Evaluation and Presentation of Evidence (IEPE): The evaluation of scenes or laboratory submissions within a quality management system to formulate forensic strategies and subsequent work. This includes interpreting evidence to inform investigations and court presentations, emphasizing confidence and clarity in conveying strengths and limitations.
CSI: Fundamental in ensuring effective forensic examination or analysis. Students should have theoretical and practical knowledge of sound crime scene processing techniques.
The role requires teaching and supporting students through a learner-centered approach, delivering a first-class student experience with practical, applied activities. The individual will also undertake curriculum development, professional practice, enterprise activity, and research.
