Job Description: Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom (On-site)

Reporting into the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will join a talented team of Traffic Signals specialists in the Oxfordshire region. Due to growth and demand from our customer(s), we are in a position to expand our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

As a Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with an experienced Traffic Engineer to troubleshoot, fix, maintain, and test a range of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights and electrical equipment associated with them in and around Oxfordshire.

Training is a mix of on-the-job learning, providing you with an opportunity to work towards an NVQ in Electrical Installations and sector-based certifications such as ECS and the Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) Chapter 8.

Who you are:

You should have an interest in troubleshooting, fixing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment, with some exposure to electrical work—whether through outdoor lighting, CCTV, controllers, detection boxes, telecommunications/radio equipment, or related college courses/diplomas.

Key Requirements:
  • Motivation and willingness to learn both on the job and online
  • Experience in electrical testing, maintenance, fixing, or installing, or hold an electrical-related qualification
  • Ability to problem-solve and think creatively, especially when fault-finding
  • Full UK Driving Licence and reside in Oxfordshire
  • Willing to undertake a Drugs & Alcohol test for compliance
