Leigh Academies Trust is seeking a dedicated individual to guide our esteemed educational institution, undertaking the pivotal role of Chair of Governors for the Longfield & Wilmington Community Board.
As Chair, you will lead the local governance of three academies: Wilmington Academy, Longfield Academy, and Leigh Academy Hartley. Your leadership will shape the educational trajectory for young minds in the community.
Located in the Longfield & Wilmington community, these academies are centers of educational excellence, fostering a nurturing environment for students to thrive academically and personally, preparing them for future success. As of 1st September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 academies (17 secondary, 14 primary, 2 special), educating over 24,000 students with 4,000 staff. We have 16 "Outstanding" academies (53% of those inspected). Our structure includes three clusters: LAT Central, LAT West, LAT North. We also operate a major initial teacher training organization, a large teaching school hub, and are an accredited apprenticeship provider.
