Engineering Manager – Baggage

Salary: From £59,795 + £4,750 Flex Allowance + Up to 20% Bonus + Benefits

Location: London Gatwick

About the Role

The core purpose of this role is to deliver a safe, efficient, and resilient Baggage System at Gatwick Airport. You will be responsible for ensuring the system's safety, reliability, and availability, managing a team of technicians and coordinating with third parties and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Baggage Engineering team to deliver maintenance plans.
  • Optimize performance of baggage assets and improve system availability.
  • Promote a culture of safety and health across all teams.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including airline and handling agents.
  • Manage costs and contracts to stay within operational budgets.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in engineering preferred; HND with significant experience accepted.
  • Proven leadership in health and safety practices.
  • Experience managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Ability to meet and exceed performance metrics.
  • Experience leading failure investigations related to baggage systems.
