About the Role

This bank role involves providing critical support to victims of sexual assault at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Birmingham and surrounding areas. The position offers a shift retainer of £30.56 (Monday - Friday) and £40.24 (Saturday - Sunday), with an attendance payment of £47.55 per case. Shifts are 8 hours over 24 hours, 365 days a year.

Responsibilities include supporting service users, assisting with forensic evidence collection, maintaining DNA contamination standards, liaising with agencies, and advocating for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for service users.
  • Support service users and their families, including preparation and forensic evidence collection.
  • Maintain high standards of DNA contamination prevention.
  • Coordinate with other agencies regarding patient care pathways.
  • Assist with preparation, support, and advocacy during patient visits.
  • Participate actively within the SARC team and wider network.
  • Utilize IT skills for administrative tasks.
  • Work in a supportive, customer-focused environment with a kind and caring approach.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection standards.
  • This role is restricted to female applicants only due to occupational requirements under the Sex Discrimination Act.
  • A UK driving license and access to a vehicle are required due to potential travel between locations.
