My client, a leading public sector organisation based in Belfast, is currently looking for a CT Radiographer to join their existing team.

Hours: Must be available to work 08:30-5pm and evenings until 8pm (Monday to Friday). Willingness to participate in night duty, shift work, on-call, weekends, and cross-site working as required.

Job Summary / Main Purpose

Assist in providing the CT service as a core worker, with rotation through other imaging modalities within the department as needed.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

For each responsibility, the postholder will:

  1. Maintain high standards of clinical imaging and personalized patient care, especially in CT Imaging.
  2. Participate in the QA programme for the CT service.
  3. Supervise radiographic staff, students, and support staff in CT and other radiography areas.
  4. Perform general and specialized imaging duties as required.
  5. Ensure equipment care, cleanliness, and proper use in accordance with policies, reporting defects or faults.
  6. Engage proactively in the department’s QA programme.
  7. Follow all policies, including safety, radiation protection, and IRMER guidelines.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and the public, including those with specific needs.
  9. Identify training needs and assist in training programs.
  10. Participate in rotation duties as directed by the Radiology Site Lead and Superintendent Radiographers.
  11. Assist in operational management and take responsibility for professional development.
  12. Participate in on-call, shift, out-of-hours, and weekend duties as required.
  13. Undertake training for IV contrast injections if required.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate examination records.
  • Assist in policy review and operational management.
  • Promote effective communication and supervise staff to uphold quality standards.

Personnel

  • Participate in staff development reviews and training needs assessment.

Educational

  • Maintain CPD, participate in clinical audits, and assist in staff training.

Complete mandatory training as required.

General Responsibilities

Promote a caring, respectful service, support team working, and adhere to policies and regulations, including health and safety, equality, and confidentiality. Demonstrate professionalism through attendance, accountability, and compliance with codes of conduct.

Qualifications include (Hons) Radiography, DCRR, or equivalent, HCPC registration, at least 2 years post-qualification experience, and postgraduate CT training or enrollment. Also, a certificate in IV cannulation or willingness to train.

  • Basic computer literacy and understanding of radiation safety standards.
