Job Title: Group HR Manager

Location: Newton Aycliffe

Salary and Package: Market leading basic salary, up to 20% bonus plus many other excellent benefits

INEOS Compounds is one of the leading manufacturers in Europe of PVC Compounds. We are at the forefront of PVC compounding technology, incorporating more than 50 years of manufacturing excellence in a comprehensive range of products.

Headline role overview:

Provide the HR Leadership and act as the single point of accountability for the delivery of comprehensive HR solutions, aligned with the INEOS Enterprises HR Service Framework and People Plan, to the INEOS Compounds business. Enable Compounds to achieve its business objectives through the effective management and development of people.

  • Leads the HR function, including developing and executing the Compounds HR strategy and agenda with the respective local Regional General Managers & their teams, actively contributing at strategic and operational levels to the organisational and people decisions affecting business plans and performance.
  • Assesses the needs of the Compounds businesses, develops, and implements people related interventions consistent with the INEOS Enterprises HR Service Framework and People Plan.
  • Provides comprehensive and effective support to the review, upgrade and development of the Compounds management population.
  • Ensures the implementation of Performance Management (SMART objectives, Performance Review Process) and Reward (payroll process/administration, pay/promotion review, recognition, bonus, pension, other benefits, insurances and job evaluation processes), ensuring alignment with the business/individual results and quality, time and budget requirements.
  • Proactively plans resources to address gaps and ensure speedy deployment through search, selection, hiring, induction, diversity & inclusion and on the job development.
  • Responsible for supporting and advising line management on employment regulations and procedures to ensure successful re-organisations, management of change, and improvements in working practices and productivity, are completed without significant adverse impact on regulatory/legal compliance, company reputation or employee engagement.
  • Owns and efficiently administers Compounds HR policies and programmes, ensuring conformance with relevant HR operating standards or policies and compliance with relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Produces and presents an accurate monthly HR Dashboard Report for the Compounds Business Team meeting and responds to regular and ad hoc data requests from INEOS Group, Enterprises and the individual Compounds Business Units.

Experience required:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent CIPD qualifications.
  • A sound understanding of a fast-paced multi-site, unionised environment, which has undergone substantial restructuring would be extremely advantageous
  • Relevant working experience, with a combination of the following:
  • At least one assignment in an HR Front line position (if more than one assignment, these should be in different business areas)
  • At least one assignment in an HR specialist role (e.g. Reward, Recruitment, Employee Relations)
  • Fully developed HR competencies especially in Permanent Employee & Contractor Resourcing, Reward, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Leadership Development and Change Management.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of business HR strategy development and delivery, within a complex, multi-site (ideally multi-country) organisation.
  • Highly polished and professional with well-honed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to make calculated people decisions while dealing with ambiguity and change.
  • Must be highly credible with the focus, determination and resilience to deliver high quality HR to a demanding client base.
  • Results-driven, resilient and candid, with an innate sense of what will work and what will not. Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
