Job Description:

Remote contract with up to 90 days travel per year

Subsea, ROV, trenching or geotechnical operations background preferred

Our client is seeking an experienced offshore operations professional with hands-on knowledge of subsea equipment such as trenchers, ROVs, or geotechnical spreads. You should have a strong understanding of live offshore environments and a proven track record of managing operational delivery from mobilisation through to demobilisation.

Position overview:

This is a key role focused on supporting the operational performance of offshore equipment spreads across international subsea projects. You will collaborate closely with the Assets Manager, offshore teams, and technical stakeholders to ensure reliability, readiness, and project success.

This role is ideal for someone who can start immediately, with a background in subsea delivery or contracting, comfortable troubleshooting, traveling offshore, and working efficiently under pressure.

Key responsibilities:
  • Equipment readiness and performance: Manage the operational performance of ROVs, trenchers, and geotechnical equipment; ensure all equipment is maintained, certified, and audit-ready; oversee defect reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Mobilisation and live support: Provide technical support during mobilisation and active offshore campaigns; troubleshoot faults remotely and offshore; act as the liaison between vessel teams and onshore engineering teams.
  • Compliance and documentation: Maintain operational documentation, compliance logs, and maintenance records; ensure operations are safe, compliant, and efficient according to company standards.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Liaise with internal teams to align asset management with project delivery; support supply chain teams on spares, procurement, and supplier selection; participate in project and operations reviews with insights and updates.
Key qualifications and experience:
  • Minimum three years’ offshore experience with subsea spreads (trenching, ROV, geotechnical drilling)
  • Proven experience managing full offshore spreads during live operations
  • Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET, MIST, OGUK Medical)
  • Strong understanding of operational and client-facing pressures in offshore delivery
  • Technical confidence in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and live support skills
  • Background in subsea operations preferred over OEM-only roles
  • Organised, proactive, and confident working under pressure
  • Experience in subsea contracting or marine services
  • Exposure to offshore audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Skilled in communication between offshore teams and senior stakeholders
What’s on offer:
  • Competitive salary with travel allowance
  • Involvement in cutting-edge subsea engineering projects
  • Flexible, remote contract with travel to global project locations
  • A fast-paced, supportive team environment with room to grow
