Maintenance Technician Required

Location: Radway Green, Crewe, Cheshire

As a Maintenance Technician your main responsibilities will include:
  1. Working to company safety guidelines
  2. Setting/Operating/Maintaining volume production machines that produce high quality components (The role is 80% operating/production and 20% maintenance)
  3. Ensuring the quality of production using statistical process control and following written standard operating procedures and risk assessments
  4. Achieving set volume production targets
  5. Maintaining the machines in line with preventative maintenance schedules
  6. Reacting to resolve immediate mechanical breakdowns
  7. Recording machine performance using the company’s Smart Factory data collection system for measuring performance and overall equipment effectiveness
  8. Taking part in company safety, quality and performance programmes
Essential skills required as a Maintenance Technician:
  1. Time served apprenticeship (HNC, HND, BTEC or equivalent)
  2. Experience in a Mechanical Engineering field
  3. Must have worked on high volume output machines
Desirable skills required as a Maintenance Technician:
  1. Experience with operating and/or maintenance of power presses or experience in automated assembly equipment
  2. Holding an up to date power press safety qualification
  3. Basic understanding of statistical process control
  4. Fork lift truck licence or mobile equipment platform licence
  5. Basic understanding of IT systems
  6. Willingness to work overtime if required

What we're also looking for in a Maintenance Technician is the ability to work autonomously without the need for direct supervision, but also as part of a team.

Hours of work:

37 hours across 5 days a week, usually an early finish on a Friday.

Day shift: starting at 6am-2pm M-T, 6am-11am Friday

Noon shift: 2pm-10pm M-T and 11am-4pm on Friday

Night shift: 10pm-6am M-T and 4pm-9pm on Friday

Voluntary OT available paid at time.

Package on offer:
  1. Basic salary is £37,935; working on the 3 shift system qualifies you for a 25% uplift, totaling £47,418 per annum.
