A leading educational institution is seeking a Fashion Construction Lecturer to deliver practical vocational courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion construction and teaching, ensuring students gain relevant skills and knowledge. The Creative Industries School at Kingston College is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and highly organized individual to teach fashion construction, techniques, and processes. You will deliver industry-relevant skills and knowledge to students enrolled in our practical vocational courses.
As our Fashion Construction Lecturer, you should be familiar with relevant machines and tools, supporting their safe use in classrooms and workshops. A broad understanding of past, current, and future design trends is essential, enabling you to support students in developing advanced skills and understanding.
Requirements include a degree or professional qualification in fashion sewing, pattern-cutting, or construction, a teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one), and a record of being a good or outstanding teacher. Experience in monitoring and supporting learners to achieve or exceed their potential, along with a commitment to personalized learning, equality, diversity, and safeguarding, is necessary.
You should also have a good understanding of health and safety procedures in educational settings and possess industry knowledge to support work experience and placements integral to the program.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review during the upcoming academic year.
