Are you interested in joining a company delivering mission critical engineering to Europe's nuclear and healthcare industries?

If you are a Draughtsperson with the ability produce engineering drawings compliant with relevant BS/ISO standards within a heavily regulated industry, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

As Draughtsperson, you will be responsible for the production of engineering drawings and associated engineering information as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team in the delivery of major projects or workstreams. Working directly under the supervision of the Engineering Support Supervisor, Principal Engineer or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer; responsible for the production of engineering drawings through the engineering design process from concept to design for manufacture, build and assembly, testing and commissioning and final as build handover.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Producing engineering drawings compliant with BS 8888 and other relevant BS/ISO standards
  • Detailing of engineering designs, to ensure design for manufacture and design for assembly is captured
  • Supporting Design Engineers during the detail design phase, ensuring proper application of tolerances, limits and fits etc.
  • Supporting the checking of engineering drawings across projects
  • Capturing and conveying design intent on manufacturing drawings
  • Providing feedback and training to other engineers with respect to best practice draughting techniques and methods
  • Gaining insight and knowledge of the supply chain, to ensure manufacturing capabilities are reflected in the detail designs
  • Supporting the Engineering Support Supervisor in the application and update of the Draughting Manual and draughting related procedures
  • Providing the ability to be a hands-on SolidWorks design asset, as required
  • Collaborating with the project team to clarify any technical issues

About you…

  • You will hold a minimum of a Level 4 qualification (e.g. HNC) in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • You will have experience of technical document control, configuration and issue
  • You will have experience both internal and external technical reporting
  • You will have draughting experience, ideally coupled with an understanding of 2D/3D CAD
  • You will ideally have experience of working within a heavily regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, food, rail, etc.)
