Job summary
We currently have an opportunity for a Pathology Lead based at our laboratory in Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow. This role involves leading a small team of multidisciplinary Biomedical Scientists across Blood Transfusion, Haematology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. Experience in Blood Transfusion and Quality Management is desirable.
Main duties include supervising technical procedures, ensuring compliance with standards (MHRA, CPA UK Ltd), managing staff, maintaining equipment and stock, and ensuring quality standards. The role also involves liaising with staff and clients, participating in audits, and maintaining confidentiality and safety standards.
Applicants should be HCPC registered, with extensive laboratory experience at Band 7 level or above. Excellent communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. Shortlisted candidates are encouraged to visit the lab prior to interview.
