About our home:

Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Clinical Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Birch Abbey Nursing Home, Alexandra Road, Southport, working NIGHTS - 4 x 12-hour shifts - 8pm - 8am.

Birch Abbey is a Nursing home catering for up to 60 residents. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

About the Role:

As the Clinical Senior Care Assistant, you will be tasked with managing the care team within the Home and ensuring that care staff are adhering to CQC guidelines whilst providing exceptional levels of care to residents. You will promote and deliver high standards of care and supervise and instruct less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care provided within the Home. There will be a structure of ongoing training on the clinical/medications side of the role with structured pay increases on successful completion of this training and increased duties.

Your Skills and Experience:

  1. Excellent communication and written skills
  2. Previous experience working within an elderly care setting
  3. Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
  4. Team player but able to work on your own initiative
  5. Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home
  6. Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working with the elderly and willingness to undertake mandatory clinical training for the role
  7. An NVQ level 3 in health & social care is required
