Job description

We are currently hiring a CFM Engineer on behalf of an international aviation leasing client.

This role is responsible for supporting technical activities related to the maintenance and operation of CFM jet engines, with a key focus on assisting in the management of engines undergoing repair. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and reliable professional with a solid foundational knowledge of jet engine operation and maintenance. This position offers the opportunity to grow and take on additional responsibilities as experience is gained.

The position is based in the Cardiff office, with a requirement to work on-site 5 days a week.


Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the management of engines while they are being repaired
  2. Assist with work-scoping including work instructions, configuration management, and deviation approvals
  3. Monitor completion status of engines throughout the MRO network for accurate planning
  4. Interact with customers, vendors and FTAI management to support technical inquiries
  5. Ensure all FTAI modules and materials are maintained to strict KPIs and high-quality standards
  6. On-wing troubleshooting to assist with lessee technical issues and keep engines flying
  7. Respond promptly to technical inquiries from customers, shop personnel and FTAI management
  8. Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to build working relationships with all colleagues
  9. Willing to travel to external MRO’s to perform engine reviews and table inspections

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline
  2. Legally authorized to live and work in the UK
  3. Experience in the aviation industry in an engineering or technical role
  4. Prior CFM engine maintenance experience with an airline, maintenance repair organization (MRO), leasing company, or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is strongly preferred
  5. Proven experience working with technical documentation including contracts, manuals, work-scopes, and specifications
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic shop environment
  7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with complex details and high attention to detail
  8. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word) and ability to quickly adapt to new tools
  9. Superior analytical, quantitative and communication (both oral and written) skills in English
  10. Must have strong drive and initiative with ability to balance multiple tasks
