Job description

Our client is on the hunt for a dependable and knowledgeable Assistant Accountant to join their enthusiastic team. This role presents a thrilling chance to engage in all areas of month-end accounts preparation, banking, monthly cost analysis, and supporting the wider Management Accounts team. The successful candidate will relish the opportunity to work in a nurturing environment that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What you'll do:
  1. Completion of the month end management accounts for review
  2. Preparation of accruals and prepayment schedules and reviews to budget
  3. Posting various transactions into Sage Intacct, including daily banking and tax payments
  4. Reviewing various costs accounts and connecting with internal teams to investigate variances
  5. Carrying out post investigation actions
  6. Supporting the wider Management Accounts team through cross training and knowledge sharing
What you bring:
  1. Strong understanding of accounting principles
  2. Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software
  3. Ability to analyse costs and investigate variances
  4. Excellent communication skills for connecting with internal teams
  5. Commitment to supporting colleagues through cross-training and knowledge sharing
  6. Keen eye for identifying opportunities to improve process controls and efficiencies
