Job description

Chief Accountant (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closure in accordance with the IFRS standards.
• Maintain Fixed Assets Register, Prepayments, Accruals, Deferred Income.
• Preparation of management accounts and reports for Group reporting purposes (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Fixed Assets Movements) including variances analysis.
• Preparation and filing of VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
• Preparation of financial statements for entities.
• Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting regulations.
• Liaise with Group Reporting Manager, external auditors, tax advisers, and local authorities.
• Be responsible for the annual audit.
• Additional duties/projects as assigned by management.

Job Requirements
• A degree in Accounting and Finance.
• Relevant accounting experience (preferably in a multi-national company), at least 5 years working in the Netherlands.
• Working knowledge of IFRS standards.
• Must have solid experience in the mentioned accounting activities.
• ACCA qualification (or relevant) with 3 years of post-qualification experience (strong advantage).
• Must have knowledge of current local tax and statutory requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills, analytic skills, and attention to detail.
• Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with little supervision.
