Retail Store Manager

£25,734 - £30,149 plus benefits

Reports to: Area manager

Department: Trading

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week (must be flexible and work weekends)

Location: Thurso Shop

We’re seeking a motivating store manager to join our trading team. You’ll be an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, motivating your team to maximize sales and fundraising targets. Your shop will be a community hub where people meet our team, learn about our work, and see the impact of our efforts.

You’ll also be surrounded by dedicated colleagues committed to beating cancer.

What will I be doing?

1. Guiding, inspiring, and engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse shop team.
2. Taking ownership of the commercial aspects of your store, including display, merchandising, stock management, maintaining standards, layout, sales, and income.
3. Leading by example to provide excellent customer and supporter service.
4. Maximizing profit through effective cost control and sales strategies.
5. Building relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
6. Organizing and running creative fundraising events to meet targets.
7. Ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration, and HR policies.
8. Performing manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.
