We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Pre-assessment and Bowel Screening Team in delivering a clinically effective service preparing patients for endoscopy procedures. The role is primarily Monday to Friday, with possible work in endoscopy rooms and on-call duties as needed.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Endoscopy pathway and experience working in a pre-assessment environment. The Team Leader will work autonomously, supporting the Senior Charge Nurse in managing patients attending for endoscopy, whether elective, emergency, or part of the Bowel Screening Service.
The responsibilities include providing high-standard, individualized patient care through comprehensive medical assessments, physical measurements, and diagnostic tests, as well as managing ongoing medical needs to facilitate endoscopy procedures.
The role aims to assess, evaluate, and optimize patients' health preoperatively, liaise with and plan for their endoscopy, and support the development and expansion of the role to meet service needs.
Essential skills include good clinical decision-making, the ability to work independently, excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective team working, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to patient-focused care is crucial.
