Job description

Location: Newport, South Wales
Salary: £33,550 - £38,341
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Closing date: 2nd June 2025
Working hours: 37 hours, Monday to Friday

What we're looking for?

The Asset Records Assistant will undertake technical administration duties, including updating records, liaising with landowners, tenants, developers, and utility companies to maintain the integrity of the transmission and distribution network in accordance with the Pipelines Safety Regulations. The role also involves managing encroachment cases, maintaining records in collaboration with various departments, and ensuring compliance with legal and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Maintaining and updating Asset records
  2. Managing CAD engineering drawings and publishing to the intranet
  3. Utilising mapping systems for geo-spatial analysis and reporting
  4. Ensuring compliance with internal processes
  5. Monitoring records management processes and collaborating across departments
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with WWU's core IT systems, including SAP and ESRI
  • Basic AutoCAD or drawing office skills (desirable)
  • Understanding of hazardous areas (desirable)
  • Experience with SAP (desirable)
  • Excellent administrative and communication skills
  • Relevant GIS qualification (preferable)
