The Partners of this leading marine team are looking for a talented and experienced lawyer to advise on a range of corporate and commercial matters relating to their maritime clients.

Matters range from drafting general commercial agreements, more complex maritime and offshore projects to corporate matters including advising on corporate structures and vehicles.

This is one of the largest, most respected teams in this sector. The team has been growing further recently and now has an opportunity for a senior associate to add further depth to the department.

Work includes:

• Advising in relation to ownership structures and sale and purchase agreements
• Commercial matters such as charter contracts operation, repair and refit agreements
• Recycling and reconditioning contracts
• Contracts in relation to offshore projects, e.g., involving everything from wind turbines to oil rigs.

The successful candidate will be a talented corporate/commercial lawyer who is interested in working with a thriving shipping team. The work is very varied. Recent examples have involved:

• Advising a major cruise company on repair and refit of its vessels
• Corporate restructure of a large passenger ferry business
• Decommissioning and recycling contract of an oil rig for a major international oil company

The partners are keen to speak with lawyers with a genuine passion for this area of work. Ideally, candidates should have previous experience in this area of practice. Strong commercial experience is crucial, coupled with a practical approach.
