Senior / Lead Geotechnical Design Engineer - Offshore / Marine / Wind - UK

Role: Senior/ Lead Geotechnical Engineer - Offshore Wind Foundations - UK

As Senior/ Lead Geotechnical - Offshore/ Marine, this is an excellent opportunity to play a leading role in the design of major offshore wind farms, focusing on foundations design.

Must have commercial Geotechnical experience in Offshore Engineering, ideally in foundations for Offshore Wind or Oil & Gas.

Essential

1. Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, Geology, or Engineering Geology.
2. Experience in Offshore/Marine engineering, including Offshore wind & Oil & Gas.
3. Experience of geotechnical calculations.
4. Offshore Foundation design experience, e.g., Oil & Gas, Wind, or Marine.
5. At least 5 years of experience, with education in a relevant engineering field, predominantly working in offshore geotechnical engineering, with good knowledge of the discipline.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of geotechnics, structures, and dynamics of offshore foundations (Wind / Oil & Gas).
2. Experience with Foundation Design Software such as GRLWEAP, OPile, PLAXIS, LPile.
3. Experience with GIS and geophysical methods.
4. Chartered Engineer or keen to achieve Chartered status.
5. Ability to lead and mentor engineers.
6. Experience with advanced calculation models and FE-modelling.

Role

Working closely with clients, contractors, and developers, projects include detailed design of offshore wind farms in the UK and Europe.

Lead, participate, and potentially manage projects from conceptual studies through detailed design, including follow-up monitoring and assessment.

Collaborate with other departments and specialists, fostering innovation within the geotechnical field.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to manage the demands of a multidisciplinary team.

Good leadership skills and active participation in the development of technical resources and professional growth are valued.
