Job description

Job Summary

To provide a professional secretarial service to the Consultant Psychiatrist and members of the NMHT, assisting them in achieving their objectives, organizing their workload, and liaising with all relevant services. Reliable data entry into the GP PAS system (such as Care First, SystemOne, Emis, and Rio) is required to ensure an effective clinic system. The role involves receiving visitors, staff, patients, and GP telephone calls in a polite, friendly, and courteous manner.

Main Duties
  • Undertake a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties, including managing correspondence, booking appointments, and attending MDT meetings.
  • Audio transcription and processing of clinical letters, reports, and correspondence with high accuracy in medical terminology.
  • Arrange meetings, take minutes, circulate documentation, and handle outcomes.
  • Perform word processing, audio transcription of clinical information, and produce reports and letters as required.
  • Work independently, prioritizing workload in line with objectives.
  • Access the Trust Electronic Patient Records System and Insight reporting system for data entry and report generation.
  • Assist in training and supervising junior, new, and temporary staff as needed.
