Job description

As a Senior .NET Engineer, you'll take on a technical team leader role within our development team. We offer hybrid working, so you can spend some of your time working from home but also have 2-3 days per week working closely with your colleagues across the Moorepay business in our Swinton office.

You'll be working with the Microsoft .NET suite of products and Azure cloud-based technologies. With your passion for technology, you'll be key to the development of our current and future cloud-based products to make a real impact for our customers.

Ideally, we would like someone to work full-time on a hybrid basis with 1 or 2 days per week in our Swinton office. We're looking for a driven self-starter who wants to lead a team as well as still get their hands dirty on a daily basis.

1. Working with our UK engineering and product teams, as well as our remote teams, to develop world-class solutions to amaze our customers.
2. Completing POCs and spikes to identify ways we can improve our products and utilise new technologies.
3. Designing and maintaining new features and services based on business needs.
4. Developing rich web and mobile applications across a wide range of browsers.
5. Collaborating on frontend architecture and helping evolve our approach to reusable React components and scalable JavaScript codebases.
6. Making sure a solution is high quality by writing comprehensive unit tests for key areas of work.
7. Communicating new ideas, designs, and achievements.
8. Overseeing and supporting remote Engineers to adopt best working practices.
9. Exploring and maximising AI technologies to accelerate delivery and quality.

Skills & experience

We'd love it if you have:

• Demonstrable experience as a .NET Engineer, with a desire to progress your career and expand your skillset.
• Knowledge of Azure and micro-services architecture.
• Awareness of Agile software practices, including use of Azure DevOps.
• A sound understanding of web security and common attacks (SQL Injection, CSRF, XSS, etc), as well as how to defend against them.
• Knowledge of web frameworks, including Bootstrap, jQuery, VUE3 and ASP.NET Core.
• Experience with frontend libraries such as React or React Native, and practical skills in component-based JavaScript development.
• Experience working with HR and Payroll software and products (or related industry experience).
