Senior Platform Engineer - Fintech

Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £120,000 + Bonus

About the Role

A leading fintech firm is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help design, implement, and optimize a cloud-native infrastructure for a high-transaction exchange. This is a key role in building a scalable, resilient platform that supports billions of transactions monthly.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement resilient cloud infrastructure to support high-performance applications.
  2. Automate deployment and scaling of containerized applications in a cloud environment.
  3. Migrate and consolidate cloud infrastructures into Google Cloud (GCP).
  4. Establish best practices for infrastructure management, security, and performance optimization.
  5. Lead incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
Key Requirements
  1. Cloud Platform Expertise - Strong experience managing production workloads in AWS or GCP, with a focus on cloud resource optimization.
  2. Container Orchestration - Extensive experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters in EKS or GKE environments.
  3. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Proficiency in Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning, ensuring maintainability and scalability.
  4. Linux Systems - Advanced troubleshooting skills, with experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and security hardening in Linux environments.
