Ideally, candidates will hold an MSc / MEng degree, though BSc / BEng degrees will also be considered. We value those with a strong technical interest in coastal processes and engineering, combined with a broader desire to enhance society and assist clients in addressing their coastal challenges.

About Our Resilience Team

Our team is a dynamic, innovative, and dedicated group committed to helping clients achieve optimal outcomes. We continually develop our methods, technologies, and staff. Comprising Coastal Engineers, Scientists, and Consultants with extensive consultancy experience, we deliver Flood and Coastal strategies for public clients, landowners, businesses, and communities across the UK and internationally. We focus on complex, non-standard projects, pioneering new approaches and integrating water innovations from the Netherlands into the UK market.

About The Role

You will join our established yet growing UK team, providing technical input on projects and proposals, initially leveraging your existing expertise while expanding your knowledge. As you progress, you'll have opportunities to lead projects, contribute to technical and commercial aspects, and engage directly with clients. There are also prospects for involvement in innovation, tool development, and business development.

Main Work Areas

  • Work across a broad scope in Flood and Coastal Management, including policy development, engineering, funding, stakeholder engagement, and R&D.
  • Primarily focus on UK projects, with opportunities to engage in global markets.
  • Contribute technically to projects and proposals, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery, fostering sustainable client relationships.
  • Support project management and learn about the commercial side of consultancy.
  • Engage in coastal hydrodynamics, morphodynamics (including modelling), coastal engineering, data analysis, programming, and strategy development.
  • Participate in developing new methods and digital tools to improve project outcomes and client services.
  • Collaborate with senior staff across RHDHV UK and worldwide.

This Role Might Be Right For You If You

  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have strong reporting and visualization capabilities.
  • Have a keen technical interest and a desire to support societal and client needs.
  • Are inquisitive, innovative, adaptable, and flexible across projects.
  • Can work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Have relevant experience in Flood and Coastal Management or programming for data analysis/coastal engineering, possibly from undergraduate projects.

We support professional development pathways (CEnv, CSci, C.WEM, CEng) and will assist you in working toward Chartership or equivalent.
